Attention all members of the Vietnam Swans Football Club,
This is a notice to inform you that the date for the 2022 Annual General Meeting will be Saturday the 3rd of December. There will be 3 options to attend the meeting, they will be in person in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, or dial in via a zoom link that will be attached to an event closer to the day. Please mark yourself as attending on the Facebook event – link here.
This year’s AGM will include updates from club representatives on the following areas:
- President – Eric Kerrison
- Regional Representatives – Louise Ode Bezhuidenhout and Matt Barton
- Local Player Development
- Junior Development
- Treasurer – Rod Stone / Steven Diep
- Communication – Bill Crang
On completion of the updates, nominations will be sought for the 2023 season, and where there are multiple nominations for a role, a vote will take place with those in attendance to fill the role. Roles to be filled for 2023 are:
- National President
- National Treasurer
- Communications
- Northern Operations Manager
- Southern Operations Manager
See below for overviews of each position.
This year however, there will be a slightly different feeling to the nominations for the Executive of the club. Whilst these positions are always open each year, this year, the current incumbents of the positions of President, Treasurer and Communications will not be standing for re-election.
Due to a variety of reasons each sitting member of the Executive will be stepping down at the end of their term. This is an exciting time for the club, as it is now time for new custodians to come forward and lead the club.
It is understandable that there may be some trepidation with such a dramatic change, but with change comes opportunity. The current Executive have discussed this at length, and have agreed, if required, to work with the new incumbents in an advisory capacity, should they wish, through until Anzac Day 2023, but will always be there long into the future to offer advice when sought.
If you have an interest in one of the roles, I would strongly suggest taking the time to reach out to Bill Crang, Rod Stone, Steven Diep or me to find out more information. We will share some info on the key areas each role covers before the day.
Whilst the roles require commitment, they are also thoroughly rewarding, as you watch the club continue to build and develop.
