Last week, Hanoi President, “Willy” Williams wished us all Chuc Mung Nam Moi (Happy TET Lunar New Year).
Awesome effort with regards to the Queensland Flood Appeal at Jaspas.
As you all would be aware we managed to raise $6,400. And a bloke who has hidden away from the lime light somewhat, and who made a big effort on the night, was Adrian. Not only did he bring along a raffle prize but also wasn’t shy get’n involved with the auction items.
So far, these blokes have said they are interested in a proposed game of footy against Saigon down at Nha Trang: Crazy, Trav, Dan K, Willy, Stanno and Adrian
Could you please confirm asap if interested? Obviously we need to book a ground and advise the Saigon guys we are definitely heading down that way. As mentioned, it is a great spot to go for a weekend and I reckon we should take advantage of it to get out of the cold weather of Hanoi. Late Feb should be a fantastic time to travel that way.
A meeting after TET is required to discuss upcoming events including trainings, the Vung Tau ANZAC tour and the playing group and 2011 committee.
One excellent proposal from Crazy Dan is we put together a Swannies gaelic side so we can compete in events. This has huge potential because it is ‘games’ that get blokes interested – not so much trainings that involve lots of running. We’ve seen rugby boys join us and other guys come out of the woodwork. We need to touch base with some Vietnamese guys as well and help get them involved in playing.
Please let me know about Nha Trang in the mean time.
Chucky Mung Nam Moi and… Go you Swannies!!
