Another USD9,000 was raised for the Queensland flood victims last Friday at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi

Hanoi President, Mark “Willy” Williams tells us about the Queensland Floods Fundraiser held last Friday that was organised by the Social Club at the Australian Embassy. It raised an amazing USD9,000 which, in addition to last month’s fundraisers held across the country of AUD36,000… well, that’s impressive.

Last Friday the Australian community and many other friends came together in Hanoi to raise money for the Queensland flood victims. Numerous organisations and people donated items for auction and raffle prizes which greatly contributed to the success of the night.

Without doubt a highlight of the evening was MJ’s busking skills where he manged to raise over 3,900,000 VND that contributed towards a grand total of over $9000 USD being raised.

The Australian Ambassador, Allaster Cox, whom has been a big supporter of the Vietnam Swans, was extremely proud and happy with the success of the evening and the generosity of all involved.

Many Swannies players and partners joined the function were more than happy to support the fund raiser, which was organised by the Social Club of the Australian Embassy, having already attended a prior successful event of a similar nature in January which was organised with the support of JASPAS and AUSCHAM in which $6,500 USD was raised.

Go you Swannies!!”
