The 2010 Asian Champs starts on Saturday - and the AFL says thanks

David Matthews is the AFL’s General Manager of National and International Development. He has just written to the the Asian Football Clubs thanking us for scheduling our 2010 Asian Championships alongside the Kaspersky Cup in Shanghai. The Champs will be held in four days time on 16 October 2010.

All, a short note to say thanks for your efforts in scheduling the Asian Championships this coming weekend to coincide with the Kaspersky Cup between Brisbane and Melbourne. The AFL is excited to have both events in Shanghai and it represents great opportunities for all.

I have met some of you and others I am still to meet but I do see the weekend as an opportunity to share views both ways on international development of the game. Several AFL Commissioners and AFL Execs will be in Shanghai as will be the recently appointed International Development Manager Tony Woods.  I am also aware you guys have been in regular contact with Andrew Cadzow and Andrew Sawitsch.
