Previously known as the Big Day Out, Auscham’s Australia Day Celebration will be held on Saturday 22 January 2011 at RMIT University in Saigon. The Swannies will also hold a footy clinic.
Auscham’s Vice Chairman, Danny Armstrong (and Swannies’ National President) says:
AusCham’s Australia Day event is all about bringing together the community to celebrate the spirit of what it means to be Australian. This event is not just for Aussies however, it is an opportunity for us to share our culture with Vietnamese nationals and all residents of HCMC.
AusCham’s annual Australia Day event has always been HCMC’s premier community event and this year the event aims to be bigger and better than ever, offering Australian food and wine as well as Aussie sporting activities and games and showbags for the kids. The main stage will be in full swing with spectacular entertainment including live bands, a traditional Vietnamese dragon dance and Xin Chao! acrobatic/ kungfu performances. I would like to encourage you to get into the Aussie spirit and support the event. With all charitable funds raised going to the Trinh Foundation, this is not only a great day out but an opportunity to support a good cause.
….and you will get the opportunity to go home with some familiar but unobtainable items – Weetbix, Iced Vo Vos, Freddo Frogs, Golden Circle sliced beetroot, Chocolate Montes, Bundy Rum, Yackandandah jams, premium Australian wines that are not sold here, and much more. As well as great raffle and silent auction prizes and a trash and treasure stall.
The event will take place on Saturday 22nd January at the RMIT sports ground from 2pm. Tickets are on sale now and only VND600,000 (including VND100,000 food vouchers) for adults and VND240,000 for children aged 6-14 years (children 0-6 years go FREE).
