What do John Lennon, AFL and Yarrahbah have in common?

Wesley Hull.

The Gordonvale State School Teacher is channeling his inner John Lennon (think “Imagine all the people sharing all the world”) and using Aussie Rules to introduce the kids of Yarrabah to the world.

Mr Hull invited Australian Rules Clubs from around the world to become Pyramid Power’s brother clubs by sending guernseys for his players to wear during an international day at Yarrabah.

He received gear from Asia, Europe, North America and across Australia.

Phoptos from the day became a hit with members of the Vietnam Swans whose strip was worn by 12 year old Tyrese Bounghi.
“They were very interested in it and wanted me to interview Tyrese for their newsletter” Hlll said.

“And Tyrese has been introduced to this new country he knew nothing about. In our own little way we are using Aussie Rules to contact these kids with the world”.

Hull is now in talks with clubs around the world who want to travel to Yarrabah to participate in next year’s international day.

Imagine that.
