The Inaugural Bi-Annual Combined Gaelic/Aussie Rules Football Match will be held on Saturday 17 March 2012 at RMIT University, District 7, Saigon (this is the same day as the 2nd Annual Swing to Swim Charity Golf Day at Montgomerie Links, Danang).
The match will be played between the Australian Irish Swans and the Irish Australian Gaels. Play will commence at 2.30pm.
A raffle will be held on the day with proceeds to be donated to the Loreto Foundation. (Raffle prizes are welcomed. Please contact Glenn Murphy.)
In the evening, there shall be a function held at Pepperonis, above the Spotted Cow, at 111 Bui Vien Street, D1. These establishments are part of the Al Fresco’s Group, a sponsor of the Vietnam Swans.
The combined football match is a new event on the calendar and is expected to be played twice each year.
It’s the beginning of yet another new tradition involving the Swannies.
And that date again? 17 March – St Patrick’s Day, of course! Tall, dark and have some (Guinness).
Go you Australian Irish Swannies!
