ANZAC Day is arguably Australia’s most significant day of the year. It is fast becoming the Swannies’ most significant as well. For Swannie, Brett Jotta, there is nothing to argue about with respect to ANZAC Day 2012. That’s the day he wore shoes and married Wendy (not her real Vietnamese name…) in Saigon.
Attending the glittering reception afterwards were some of the Swannies’ best including the Skipper, Dukesy; Mr Pow-ell, Heater, Kyle and the Butcher of Saigon, Tra Vy.
While these fellas may be amongst the Swannies’ finest, clearly, they were no match for the lovely Ms Wendy who outshone them all.
Yesterday, it was the turn of Swannies’ supporter, Mr Jeremy, to slip the ring on a finger. The finger he chose belonged to Ms Trang (who is now learning to love the Swannies…).
During the morning’s Buddhist ceremony, we prayed to Trang’s ancestors. At the reception in the evening, Jeremy’s father, Garry, advised that Jeremy and Trang’s wedding fell on the 100th anniversary of Jeremy’s grandfather being born.
Many significant days out there.
Many congratulations to these two couples from all the Swannies!
