Last week we had another Swannie tie the knot and marry his long time girlfriend. Trent Mears and Kiera Pearce were married in Taree on February 2nd 2014.
Trent debuted for the Swannies in the 2011 ANZAC game, this was also his first full Aussie rules football game. With no previous footy experience Trent threw himself at every contest with no regard for his wellbeing winning plenty of ball and as a result wining him the BOG elected by The Hong Kong Dragons (the opposition team). Trent went on to be an integral part of the Swannies midfield.
After a move from south to north with work Trent was struck down with a knee that would see him sidelined for a year and consequently not play another game for the Swans. Though a testament to Trent’s character he further injected himself into the Swans in many off-field responsibilities winning him the Clubman of the Year in Hanoi for 2012.
A big thanks needs to go to Kiera also who joined the two ANZAC day games and other events and function where she was always ready to help out the Swans where needed. Whilst not being a big AFL fan your support never went unnoticed, thankyou.
Congratulations to Trent and Kiera on their nuptials and we wish them all the best on their endeavours in the future.
As good friends of many at the club, much love to both of you and hope to see you soon.
Congrats again guys!!!
