Mark Stennett, a Swannie and owner of Drift Photography Tours has just announced details of a unique and creative sponsorship initiative. To help get a Swannie to KL for the upcoming EAAFL match on 30 March, Drift Photography Tours is offering a sponsorship worth $100 to one Swannie who meets a criteria detailed in his email to all players which has been reproduced below.

To all players

To kick off a new initiative whereby players can be sponsored to offset touring costs, I am sponsoring one player to the tune of USD 100 for the Malaysian tour from 29 – 31 March.

If this will get you over the line, and you meet the criteria, let me know. It’s not a free ride but a mutually beneficial arrangement that helps get players to international games and helps promote the sponsor.

Conditions and obligation of the player are:

1. Must not already be going to Malaysia and must be a regular Swannie player/contributor and must play the game in KL… no mates or spectators.
2. Must have a genuine financial need; i.e. this $100 must make the difference between going and not going.
3. Must represent the sponsor in a professional manner at all times.
4. Must show leadership on and off the field.
5. Must participate in pre game promotion in terms of an article on the Swans’ website and Sponsor’s website.
6. Must write a report after the game about how awesome the sponsor is for Swannies’ and Sponsor’s websites.
7. Wear sponsors promotional attire (t-shirts / hats etc) wherever practical and where it doesn’t clash with official Swannies stuff

If this is successful we are looking at opening it up to all players for future tours… More on that later.
