Nick Shiells (left) and Brett Jotta (right) have proven they can lead on the field. But, off the field, who is better qualified to fill the Presidential vacancy in Saigon following Sam Conroy’s departure? Who will lead the Club in Saigon from now until the end of 2013?

On the eve of the Vietnam Swans’ 10th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and Vietnam in 2013, Sam Conroy’s departure from Vietnam and the Saigon Presidency has left a big vacancy that needs to be filled.

The Saigon President has the all important roles of ensuring that:

  • we have the best possible chance of on field success
  • we host events that people want to be a part of; and
  • the Club is considered to be making a positive contribution to the local community.

We have two nominations for the position of Saigon President: Nick Shiells and Brett Jotta. Current paid up Saigon members / players may vote for their preferred candidate prior to 5pm on Friday, 7 September by emailing National President, Phil Johns.

The Club has been enjoying some great momentum which, in Saigon, has been spearheaded by former Saigon Presidents Scotty Stacey, Derrin Limbrick and Sam Conroy. Once voting has closed next Friday, we will have a new Saigon President.

No doubt, the successful candidate will continue the proud tradition of lifting the Club to the next level during their term in office.

Good luck to both candidates!
