In a series of firsts the Saigon Colts and Vietnam Swans will welcome the South Melbourne Districts Auskick club and the Cambodian Cobras for a massive day of AFL on Saturday August 18th at the playing fields of RMIT University in District 7, Saigon.

Details below and a lot more information will be announced shortly. BBQ and drinks available on the day AND a Slip-n-slide for the kids big and small. Don’t miss it!

Auskick with South Melbourne Districts

South Melbourne Districts Football Club has been making an annual trip over to Vietnam for several years. The Saigon Colts and South Melbourne Districts Auskick kids will participate in a clinic from 11am, with several of the Swans stars joining the next generation of footy talent.

AFLX Tournament

Vietnam’s first-ever AFL X tournament will take centre stage from midday with 4 teams taking to the hallowed turf  to compete for bragging rights and ultimate glory.

Never heard of AFLX? AFLX is a modified format of 18-a-side Australian Rules football. It’s ideal for players who are new to the game. It’s also ideal for the smaller pitches of Asia!

Players sign up on this spreadsheet to take a place in one of the 3 teams to compete on the day.

Ross McCrae has done some great work on the logos for the 3 teams from Vietnam. We’ll also be joined by the Cambodian Cobras, an all-Khmer team from Phnom Penh.
