Vung Tau was a mega footy boot camp of a weekend.
We kicked off at the Dog Track for a training session. Then it was off to Tommy’s 3 Sports Bar to have a look at the Swannies Shrine (lots of Swannies and Asian football memorabilia) and St Josh’s Wailing Wall (where women go to wail – and there’s also lots of photos of Josh standing next to famous football people).
After that, we returned to the Dog Track – this time for the… dogs! Timmay then belted out a couple of numbers for us at a local night club.
On Sunday it was a guided tour of Club Sponsor, Strategic Marine’s* shipyard. Do they build some serious ships! While fluoro orange ships are impressive, arguably, a bigger highlight was the Swannies’ Asian Champs banner hanging in the staff canteen.
Back to Timmay’s place for a swim and a BBQ. On the ferry and back to the ‘Gon.
Top weekend. Some first photos are available at the Swannies Web Album. Lots more high resolution photos, especially some great action shots at training taken by Fleur, will be available in the next couple of days.
Special thanks to Glenn, Timmay, the Strategic Mariners, Strategic Marine itself and all the Vung Tau crew.
