The Vietnam Swans are thrilled to share the incredible results of our annual AFL Grand Final Event in Ho Chi Minh City. This year’s event was a resounding success, bringing together the local community for a day of Australian football, camaraderie, and, most importantly, giving back. We are proud to announce that on the day, we raised over 145 million VND, with 72,558,216 VND to be donated to our partner charity, the Blue Dragon Children’s Charity.
A Tradition of Community and Support
The AFL Grand Final event has long been the centre-piece of the Vietnam Swans’ off-field calendar. Hosted once again at the fantastic Jaspas in Thao Dien, the atmosphere was as the Lions went back-to-back. As always, the event served as a fantastic social event, and a chance for our club to raise invaluable funds for the clubs community initiatives and the support of Blue Dragon Children’s Charity. Enabling them to continue their incredible work rescuing children from human trafficking, providing a safe haven for street kids, and offering long-term support to help them build a brighter future.
Our partnership with Blue Dragon Children’s Charity is a source of great pride. For over 20 years, Blue Dragon has been a beacon of hope, rescuing children from human trafficking, providing a safe haven for street kids, and offering long-term support to help them build a brighter future. The funds raised at our event will directly contribute to their life-changing work, and we couldn’t be more grateful to our attendees for their generosity.
Our Incredible Sponsors and Auction Donors
The success of the day would not have been possible without the extraordinary support of our sponsors and prize donors. We urge our entire community to take note of these businesses and support them where you can, as they are the true heroes behind our fundraising efforts.
A special and heartfelt thank you goes out to Damo and the team at High Tide, whose generous donation of several auction items raised around 25 million VND alone. Their commitment to our cause is truly remarkable.
We must also extend a huge thanks to former West Coast Eagles legend Chris Lewis, whose invaluable contribution of an authentic number 9 Eagles guernsey, signed by past and present stars, created a bidding frenzy and raised a significant amount for the charity.
The day was made even more memorable by our special guest, former Brisbane Bears and West Coast Eagles player Johnny Gastev. His presence and insightful commentary added a unique and exciting dimension to the broadcast, and we are grateful for his participation.
Finally, we want to recognize the continuous support of the Jaspas team and the Al Fresco’s Group. Their commitment to hosting our event and providing their top-notch hospitality year after year is a testament to their dedication to the community.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who attended, bid on an item, bought a raffle ticket, or simply came to cheer on their team. Your participation has made a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable children in Vietnam. We can’t wait to see you all again next year!
