You will recall that the Vietnam Swans played HMAS Sydney IV on 31 October 2012 for the4th  Phoenix Cup Perpetual Trophy (click here for match report). After the match, the Vietnmam Swans were presented with a framed HMAS Sydney jumper from the team’s captain.

The framed jumper, see above, now hangs at Digger’s Rest Cafe at 3 Ba Cu Street in Vung Tau. Digger’s Rest is owned by Club sponsor, Tommy’s Sports Bar.

Digger’s Rest has numerous photos and pictures from various wars. Amongst them is a memorial picture of HMAS Sydney II. Sydney II was sunk in 1941 taking her entire crew of 645. . There is also a replica of the match day banner.

Digger’s Rest Cafe is well worth a visit.
