Soon after the weekend in July when the Cambodian Eagles and Hanoians descended upon Saigon for a three way competition, John Shoulders suffered a mishap at training at which he injured his knee.

And so it was that last night, John left Hanoi for Bangkok to have a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament operated on today.

Michael Johnston reports that John, who missed the Asian Champs because of the injury, is “a bit wary but is glad to be having it sorted out at last”.

All the Vietnam Swans wish John well.

We trust the operation will be a great success, he has a speedy recovery – and that he’s out on the boundary line for next month’s Indochina Cup in Hanoi exhorting the Swannies to complete the three-peat.

Go you Swannies!!
