To the men and women at the Vietnam Swans,
To wake up last weekend to the news of being granted a life membership at the Vietnam Swans was both a surprise and a profound honour. Vietnam holds a special place in my heart, and the Swannies were integral to my time there. From the moment I arrived in HCMC, the club welcomed me, and it was an utter privilege to serve as the club president.
The success of any football club is a testament to the countless individuals whose contributions, both large and small, shape it. I am humbled to have played a small part in building upon the (mega) awesome efforts of those who came before me. To see the club continue to go from strength to strength, on and on the field – over the past 10 years is simply wonderful and I congratulate all those involved.
I do need to give a special mention and thank you to those who supported me when becoming president and give a heartfelt thank-you to everyone, north and south, that I had the privilege of ‘working’ and playing with. I have so many great memories and feel very lucky for the friendships that I’ve made through the Swannies and footy in Asia in general.
Thank you once again for this incredible privilege. I am honored to be a part of the
Vietnam Swans family, and wish the club nothing but success.
HONK!
