Multicultural and International Coordinator, has written to the international football community encouraging us to send messages of support to Kevin as he celebrates his 1,000th AFL/VFL match this weekend.

Dear International Football Community,
As many of you are aware this weekend, Kevin Sheedy will be involved in his 1000th match of VFL/AFL Football as either a player or coach. He will be the first person to achieve this milestone, an outstanding accomplishment.
Along his football journey, a key passion of Kevin’s has been the development of the game outside of Australia. He is continually exploring opportunities in new markets and has been a wonderful ambassador and advocate for international growth. He has supported the international football community in many ways over many years.
As a tribute and thank you to Kevin, can you please help to generate as many messages of goodwill as possible about his contribution to international development? These messages will then be presented to Kevin. Please feel free to forward this request onto your networks.

Further to Peter Romaniw’s email below, the Vietnam Swans would like to extend our best wishes and congratulations to Kevin Sheedy on his amazing achievement this weekend; his 1,000th VFL/AFL match as either a coach or a player.
Throughout his innovative and creative career, this strategist and marketer extraordinaire, in addition to all the stuff he has done in Australia, has done great things in the international field. Despite his busy schedule, he has never forgotten the little guy doing his work at the grass roots level.
In the case of the Vietnam Swans, through his brother-in-law and Vietnam Veteran, Kennny Earney, Kevin has donated signed merchandise and stopped to have his photo taken in a Swannies’ hat. That has helped raise our profile and some much needed funds to support the Club’s activities. Importantly, it has also become another building block in the development of international football – and the international story is one that Kevin continually raises within the AFL corridors of power – which can only be good for everyone.
From all the Vietnam Swans, congratulations to Kevin Sheedy on his remarkable achievement!
