World Footy News has reported that Canada’s Ottawa Swans Australian Football Club will compete in the Ontario Football League from 2008.
As you can see from the picture to the side, their jumper is decidedly similar to the Vietnam Swans. Instead of having the Sydney Opera House which is on our jumper, Ottawa has a maple leaf.
Just as Gough Whitlam back in 1972 was saying, “It’s time”, so too are some of the Vietnam Swans with regard to our jumper. As we saw in the Asian Champs, Singapore wears the South Melbourne jumper (red “V”). Japan also has a red and white jumper.
The Sydney Swans jumper has served us well but now it’s time to come up with a new design which is uniquely Vietnam. The Lao Elephants have done a top job with their jumpers (especially if you like pink) because it’s unique.
