Saigon Captain, Billy Crang, highlights the support of the Commonwealth Bank and Strategic Compliance which have both taken part in the “Sponsor a Swannie” program for the 2013 Asian Championships.
Two of the Club’s great sponsors have gone to new levels to support our attack on this year’s Asian Champs.
The Commonwealth Bank and Strategic Compliance have both come forward and supported key players who will drive us towards the finals on the weekend. On behalf of the playing group I’d like to sincerely thank these sponsors for again getting behind us and helping to make our tilt at this year’s Asian Champs as strong as possible.
This “Sponsor-a-Swannie” tradition (started by Mark Stennet at Drift Photography) really is appreciated by the players directly benefiting but also by the rest of the playing group who have the extra support of some key players on the big days throughout the year.
Ross Munn and Rowan Luke at the Commonwealth Bank have been great long time supporters and have gone further by offering (not being requested) to support two of our best players and on-field leaders, the Milner brothers on this tour.
The boys are grateful – and I’m just as grateful that the Commonwealth Bank’s support means we will have such a key part of our team attacking the ball, as only they can, all day Saturday.
Following this lead, Nick Shiells at Strategic Compliance has actively sought out a way to strengthen the Swannies tilt and I think he’s found the perfect avenue in our French recruit, Manu. Manu has been an immeasurable ball of energy since appearing in Vietnam and discovering Aussie Footy. He will bring this whirlwind approach to the game on Saturday and his fitness and strength will be one of the keys to us getting deeper into the day.
Our Club gets the chance to do all the great things we do through the year because of the great support we have from so many great companies who support us so much. We try to acknowledge this in the events we host, the press we attract, the communications we maintain and thankfully we’ve seen companies continuously choose to align themselves with the Swannies.
I’d love to thank them all and to let them know that we’ll be going extra hard on Saturday to bring some success back to those that back us so strongly.
