Admin Manager, Tung Ly of the Swannies’ sister club, the Southern Dragons has opened a Vietnamese restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD selling authentic street food. And it’s a mega winner.
The official opening of the Roll’d Restaurant in Hardware Lane (diagonally opposite McDonalds in Bourke Street) was on Thursday night and a bunch of Dragons, together with the Swannies’ Prez, Phil Johns were there.
Roll’d is as authentic as can be with its beer selection including Bia Ha Noi as well as the Tigers. On the menu are traditional dishes that include:
- Pho – the best bowl of noodle soup on this side of the border
- Bun – thin rice vermicelli noodles with fresh Asian ingredients and herbs
- Goi – Roll’ds classic Vietnamese salad which is crunchy, exotic and healthy
- Cuon – handmade rice paper rolls perfectly wrapped in freshness to give you maximum satisfaction
- Ca Phe – the traditional Vietnamese coffee
And lots more – all for under $10. Well worth a visit. You’ll be hooked for sure.
Dragons to tour Vietnam for match on 12 October 2013
The Southern Dragons have advised that they would like to tour Vietnam in October and have a match against the Swannies on 12 October in Saigon. The Swannies are currently confirming ground availability with RMIT University.
The Swannies hosted a match against the Southern Dragons in January of last year for the Inaugural Vietnam-Australia Friendship Match. It was a huge day (which was won by the Dragons) and evening. This year will be mega.
