Yesterday, Kyle Hackenberg was on fire booting 4 goals for the Whites in Saigon’s fortnightly scratch match. He’s also on fire having already sold (with Esmira!) 22 tickets for next weekend’s Swannies’ AFL Grand Final Party. Yesterday he picked up an additional 10 tickets!
However, Kyle is no stranger to fire. Last month, for example, he was in the Land of Fire, Azerbaijan, wearing his Swannies’ top.
Azerbaijan is on the Caspian Sea and is bordered by Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Iran and Iraq.
Kyle with his beautiful wife, Esmira and their children, Johno and Sophia went to Azerbaijan last month to visit family friends (and in the process, unfortunately, missed the Asian Champs in Thailand). Azerbaijan is famous for its natural fires that come from the rich oil and gas fields.
Kyle reports that fire mountain, pictured above, has been burning naturally for hundreds of years. He also visited:
- an ancient site which fire worshippers travelled over 2,000 years ago from as far away as India and China
- a castle built 2,000 years ago
- another castle built 1,000 years ago.
Kyle signs off with, “This is another first for the Vietnam Swans to have our hat and jumper in the Land of Fire!”
