The Vietnam Swans have received a certificate and letter of appreciation from an orphanage in Vung Tau. The letter, from Ms Le Thi My Huong, says:
Re: ANZAC Day Friendship Match – Charity donation given to Trung Tam Bao Tro Tre Em Vung Tau (Centre for Social Protection of Children, Vung Tau) from the Vietnam Swans Football Club.
On 4 June 2011, I received from Mr Glenn Nolan the amount of VND9,357,000 (USD454). This money will be used to purchase school books and stationery for children for the upcoming school year whcih starts in August.
On behalf of Trung Tam Bao Tro Em Vung Tau and our children, we would like to express our appreciation for this donation. We greatly value your support towards the care of our children and thank you for your generosity.
Thank you also to the Swannies for visiting our children at the Centre. The children were excited to meet the players and some of our children are now kicking an Australian Rules Football.
Thank you to all who attended and raised a total of $3,000 at the 2011 ANZAC Friendship Match which has allowed us to make donations to Trung Tam Bao Tro Em Vung Tau, another orphanage in Vung Tau, Swim Vietnam and the Vung Tau Veterans and Friends Childrens’ Fund.
