Scotty Stacey at his farewell tournament; the 2008 Indochina Cup in Phnom Penh – and last month at the Tough Mudder Sydney 2012 event.

The Little Bloke, Scotty “Pacey” Stacey, who did the 2012 Tough Mudder event in Sydney last month, is set to fly in from Australia for next month’s Indochina Cup in Hanoi as an ump!

Scotty was one of the original Hanoi Swans and played a major role in setting up the Saigon Chapter of the new, national, Vietnam Swans in 2007. He was also our inaugural Saigon President and our playing coach. He had his farewell tour on the Cambodian Cannonball Run, the 2008 Indochina Cup in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

National President, Phil Johns, when asked to comment on the return of Pacey Stacey for the Indochina replied, “Yet more evidence of awesomeness. How good is it when someone who has played such an important role for the Club wants to come back during his holidays to help out the Club again?

“When Scotty returns, he will see a lot of new faces – and all those new faces will be pumped to see him because he’s a Swannie who has done a truck load for this Club.”

Yesterday, Scotty replied to an email from SOS in Hanoi asking if he was up to date on all arrangements: “As yet, I don’t have many details. As long as the Indochina Cup is still in Hanoi, there’s water during the day and beer afterwards, the rest I guess will work itself out.”

Damn’ right it’ll be worked out, Scotty! Will be huge to have you back in the country for another mega Swannies’ function!
