A pensive National Treasurer listens to the Saigon Prez on Tuesday night

Last Tuesday night in Saigon, the Swannies put on a farewell party for our outgoing National Treasurer and General Director of the Commonwealth Bank, Danny Armstrong and his family.

Saigon Prez, Dez says that there was a “huge turnout on Tuesday night at the Spotted Cow for the Armstrong Family’s farewell.  It was especially great to see some of the Hanoi guys there (Trav Fennell, Mick Francis and Max).

“It was a great night with lots of laughs (mainly at Danny’s expense) but also plenty of great memories were rehashed.  We wanted to send him off in true Swannies style and I think that is exactly what we did.”

Dez MC’d the evening with a trusty panel that included luminaries such as Shagga, Angry and Josh. Fabbo even had a crack at a 14 hour farewell speech before Danny was given his right or reply.

On and off the field, Danny’s presence and contribution has been awesome. He’s even recruited a replacement for his treasury duties, Rowan Luke – also from the Commonwealth Bank.

Danny was given a photo of him being chaired off the oval on the shoulders of his team mates at the Indochina Cup with the caption, “Mr Danny oi! Remember, you can leave the country but you can’t leave the Swannies.”
