Glenn Nolan (Swannies’ National Committee member elect), and wife Trang, are the owners of Tommy’s Sports Bar in Vung Tau.
Last weekend they advised National President, Phil Johns that they would like to sponsor the Swannies in 2011. Yesterday, the deal was sealed at a meeting with the Saigon Committee.
Phil said, “The Club is delighted to welcome Tommy’s Bar as a sponsor. Since early 2010, Tommy’s Bar has been the home of the Swannies. This sponsorship has just transformed Tommy’s into the Swannies Vung Tau Mansion!” What a hoot!
Glenn and Trang are both keen supporters of the Swannies and travel regularly with us. Glenn, often displays traits of a magpie on these trips collecting all sorts of Swannies and Asian footy memorabilia which then goes straight to the pool room of Tommy’s Sports Bar. There’s an amazing collection that you must see when visiting Vungers – especially when you need a fix of AFL footy.
Glenn is also famous for his battlefield tours that include the Long Tan Cross, Nui Dat and the Long Hai Hills. He runs them for both Vietnam Veterans and tourists.
Tommy’s Bar 3 will be heavily involved in this year’s ANZAC Friendship Match which will be held at the Dog Racing Track on Saturday 23 April. Also, after the Dawn Service on the Monday morning, many people will return to Tommy’s Bar for a live telecast of the Collingwood Vs Essendon ANZAC Day match.
Tommy’s Bar 3 is located at 3 Ba Cu Street, Vung Tau (Glenn and Trang also own Tommy’s Bar 1 at 94 Ha Long St, Vung Tau).
