The Vietnam Swans are going into an intensive 10-week phase of games and its time to fine-tune our skills and fitness. Wednesday night training in Saigon is back under the lights at Australian International School!

A Packed Schedule for the First Half of the Season

It’s an exciting time of year. While the latter half of the season is devoted to multi-team tournaments like the Indo China Cup and the Asian Championships, the early part of the season is focused on full-length games at home and in other exotic destinations:

  • 10th March – Saigon, against the Cambodian Eagles.
  • 24th March – Phnom Penh, against the Cambodian Eagles.
  • 21st April – Kanchanaburi, against the Thailand Tigers
  • 28 April – Vung Tau, against the Thailand Tigers in the ANZAC day game, an annual highlight for the Vietnam Swans.
  • 19th May – Penang, against Malaysia Warriors.

Of course, we want to give our Club the best chance of success. With a large squad in Saigon, Wednesday night training will be added from this week (March 7) right through until May 16 before we leave for Penang. It’s a short burst of extra training.

Friday Night Training Vietnam Swans

A Big Part of Success in 2018

Coach Rod “Rocket” White highly recommends you get to these sessions:

2018 will be a big year for the Vietnam Swans. Lunar New Year is behind us and, as we look to the next 5 games in quick succession, it’s time to ramp up the training schedule.

Wednesday training begins in earnest this week. It’s 90 minutes with a focus on skills to sharpen your touch and embed the 2018 playing style. Numbers to training have been great and the new faces are fitting in nicely.

Looking forward to seeing y’all there @ 6.45pm for a 7pm start! All welcome!

If you’re looking to play a part in this season, particularly the highly competitive selections for the ANZAC Day Game, you should come on down to training! Whether you’re fit or just getting into 2018, an experienced player or new to AFL, there is a spot for you.
